Tea Time at Château Morreau

Upon request

From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Château Morreau welcomes you for L'Heure de l'Absent, a refined Tea Time in Le Salon Vert or, weather permitting, on the historic Terras Léopold.

The name refers to Marianne, the mysterious housekeeper who once watched over the castle. Although she has long since disappeared, her presence still seems palpable in the salons, the park, and the old traditions of the estate. A moment when time stands still. A moment of absence.

As a signature creation, we serve L'Absent de Marianne, a refined botanical non-alcoholic drink. For enthusiasts, this can be enriched with a subtle touch of house gin.

In addition to a selection of traditional teas, you will also discover exceptional loose-leaf teas from historic Oriental trade routes, once favored by European courts during the Belle Époque.

A special place is reserved for Le Petit Charbon Noir, an artisanal Belgian truffle with a smooth mint and herb ganache, inspired by the mining history of the Péruwelz region.

Enjoy exceptional teas, homemade pastries, fine chocolate creations, and the tranquility of the park.

A moment when time seems to stand still.

A Belle Époque Experience

Under crystal chandeliers, amidst mint-green paneling, marble fireplaces, and gilded details, you will experience the atmosphere of an elegant European salon from the end of the nineteenth century.

Soft salon music, the aroma of fresh tea, and views of the centuries-old park create an experience reminiscent of the exclusive tea houses of London, Paris, and Brussels during the Belle Époque.

L'Heure de l'Absent is no ordinary Tea Time.

It is an invitation to briefly escape the hustle and bustle of today.

Un instant. Une absence.
